Sandy. If I remember correctly it is simply a posterization effect in PS and a vignette.

I like the texture and the mood and maybe this is not a photo art critique but a general one…
It would work a lot better for me if they were not looking away.

Wonderful family scene and I like the treatment. It doesn’t bother me that the swan on the left is looking away…Yes, it would have been better if he looked right at you and smiled, but sometimes they don’t follow our directions. I like the edge.
