This Trumpeter Swan hen decided to do some short take-offs and landings while I was visiting their pond. I’m pretty sure one of her intentions was to demonstrate the procedure for her 3 new cygnets. It definitely got their attention and they seemed to be quite impressed!

Hi Gary
The take off looks good and the cygnets look board. The whites are well controlled and the water droplets and reflection on the underside of the wing really add to this photograph.

Beautiful action shot! What a neat moment you captured! At this point it looks like the cygnets are more interested in what you’re doing rather than mom!
Nice behavior. Most of the swans near me never seem to fly so this is a little unusual for me to see. The inclusion of the juveniles makes for a compelling image.
Hi Gary, this is a really nice interaction shot with the juveniles included as a side story to the image. Having the splash on the right adds a point of interest too. Nice frame.
