This Trumpeter Swan hen decided to do some short take-offs and landings while I was visiting their pond. I’m pretty sure one of her intentions was to demonstrate the procedure for her 3 new cygnets. It definitely got their attention and they seemed to be quite impressed!

I spend a lot of time with this swan and her new family and this is one of my favorite shots of their behavior and interactions.

Great stop action on this image, Gary. You handled the whites beautifully and I love the water splashes along with the positioning of the swan’s feet. I can see why this is a favorite!
