Description

We usually get one good cold snap each winter in the Washington Cascades; so when the temperatures get down around 0 F. off we go. The waterfalls in the mountains present some nice formations. This one was a bit dicey getting in position for… a rope might have been nice. Anything for a good picture.

To my eye this is a fine abstract, and to just tweak it a little I’d crop out the pale blue sliver along the bottom. I might also reduce the highlights on the white snow. But I do love the strong contrasts and those metallic colors, as well as the overall design.

Hi @delton , What a wonderful winter scene you have shared with us. I really love the interplay of the minerals in the rocks with the frosting of ice and snow. The geometry of the rock forms is quite lovely. I do agree with Mike that the white of the snow should be brought down a bit. Well seen.

Guy and Mike F: Thanks. I have cropped the bottom as you suggested (my daughter suggested that years ago too). See what you think. Attached.

Wonderful scene! Your new crop is perfect -
Marvelous lines and shapes here, and the touch of colour adds a fine element.
Love this!

I love the new crop Delton. I love the color mix in this one. Those icy blues and those warm reds have a great mix of tones.
