Congrats on finally getting your shot. I like it but personally not too fond of the noise in the sky. If you like the grain look of film and that’s what you were going after I respect that but I always hated any film from 400 and above. Just my personal preference. Hope you don’t mind, I ran it through Topaz Denoise.

I like this, Ralf. My reaction was similar to Michael’s regarding the grain. Especially with a dark sky, I like a smooth treatment there. Just a matter of taste of course. I also wonder about a slight crop off the top, sort of a 5x7 portrait rather than 4x6. I like the darker tones up top, but I think the moon can be a tish closer to the frame and give our eyes more focus on the clouds.

An interesting composition and lovely light on the land. The detail and exposure on the moon feel just right. My vote would also be for less noise, but that’s obviously artist’s choice.

Thank you all!!
The qualitty of the picture was for whatever reason not very good, there is a lot of noise in it even it was just ISO 250 (not my regular camera). But I admit, to hide it a bit, I added grain. Denoise didn´t come to my mind

My thoughts are similar Ralf. I especially like @Marylynne_Diggs idea on the crop.

Hi Ralf,
This B&W scene has an air of mystery about it that I quite like. Your persistence paid off, so congratulations on finally capturing your vision. The grain in the sky is not my cup of tea, so I do like the rework with the smoother sky of my brother @Michael_Lowe. That being said, it is ultimately your choice which direction to go with the grain. As far as the tree in the LRC the only part the bothers me a little is the branches that poke up into the sky. If this were mine I would probably remove them. The rest of the tree is dark enough that it blends in fairly nicely. BTW, I also like the diagonal placement of those clouds. Nicely done IMO.

Thank you very much!
