One of those iconic photos taken countless times. This is my version.
I was there the day before and it was so crowded that didn’t even take my camera out of the car. When I returned before sunrise the next morning I was surprised by the number of photographers that beat me. The difference was, these folks where there to capture a good photo and as a result were courteous to each other.

Please comment on saturation and luminance. Overdone or about right?
Once I got the foliage colors where I wanted them the mill and wheel were over saturated. I masked these areas and used the ‘selective color’ adjustment tool to correct the colors.
My first edit was too saturated. It took some work, but I’m pretty happy with this version.

I cropped this to 4:5 to get rid of artifacts at the bottom.
Very nice. I am not familiar with the scene but it has a ton of interest, its sharp, detailed as a photo like this should be.
Subtle processing which is about perfect for me, Muted, you could tone down the whites a tad for me.
The maple? tree trunk on the upper center left is integral to the scene but the reflection in the water draws my eye.
Can’t get rid of it but I would tone it down in the reflection.
Frame it.
Beautiful scene, David, and captured so well. Yes, when you are around considerate photographers, it does make a difference. For me I think the saturation is good, but I haven’t been in the landscape scene of late, and so not sure my critiques are the ones you need to depend on. With that said, I like the reflection and feel it balances the scene nicely. I hope you have some wall space for this, it deserves it.
David, as others have said, this is a wall-hanger for sure. Wonderful composition and the colors/saturation look fine to me. I agree with @Dan_Kearl that the reflection saturation could be toned down a bit…not much though.
Wonderful scene with a very nice visual flow up to the mill! I love that it is peeking out from the trees. No real nits but I wonder about either lightening the FG water a tad (which would also mitigate the tree reflection a bit), or pulling down a gradient from the top to darken the trees a bit, or both.
Beautiful work David. I like how you captured the fall color and motion in the stream. The stream itself takes my eye up tp the mill. The color frame the mill very well. I feel like I am there when I look at this.
