Glowing Embers

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Not much of a mystery here. This is an ICM of a tree. Happens to be in my backyard and has been the subject of many, many photographs. And yes, this was at sunset, which created the burning ember look at the bottom.

Specific Feedback

As always, your comments, critique and recommendations are always appreciated. Any comments on processing, colors, saturation, etc. But more importantly, what, if anything, does this convey to you?

Thank you in advance for your comments and observations.

Technical Details

Nikon Z7ii, Z24-200mm @45mm, f/14 .5s iso 80
Single ICM frame (2 movements vertical with horizontal jerk)

Wow, you had me fooled! I thought this was from the Southwest, red rock cliffs, maybe Zion and the photographer lit a fire below the cliff like some photographer did years ago and was caught, fined, and shamed. Then I saw it was you and thought, nah, Lon wouldn’t do that. So I still look at it and can’t stop thinking it is from Zion…maybe because I was just there. Anyway, great confusing photo.

A cool image, Lon. To me, this evokes feelings of approaching wildfire-not exactly a comforting feeling, but definitely evocative.

I also saw a desert rock face! I didn’t make out the tree until I read your description. This is another of your wonderful examples of creating art with a camera. Congratulations on the EP – so well-deserved!
