Superb detail in the Goldfinch in both images, Eddie, and I love the “stick”. Both compositions work well, though I have a slight preference for the first.

To me they are both have excellent detail.The first shot I agree is the one I prefer.Just one thing that maybe could improve it is the right eye is a little dark maybe to brighten it just a little

I also prefer the first composition but they are both excellent with respect to detail, color, and saturation levels.
