Grass and Rock/small scene

This rock and grass are on the path of my (almost) daily walk and something about the scene appeals to me. Not my typical photography activity-I’m out with my long lens looking for birds to photograph.

Hi Allen, have to admit to loving rocks in all their forms, and I’m attracted to your image by the center rock and fan-like grasses behind it, which make an appealing mini-scene all by themselves. The rock itself seems unnaturally flat on top, so I would have preferred to turn it over to (hopefully) expose a more rugged view.

Allen, the rocks and reeds make a fine combination with their contrasting shapes and colors. I’m wondering if a vertical would show off the center rock and the shape of the reeds behind it, since there’s not much interest in either of the upper corners. I like the slightly cut off reed tips as that adds emphasis to the green parts.
