Description

I visited the local state park and found a movie crew occupying the area of my favorite small pond. I then tried the main lake across the road a ways and found this great blue doing some fishing.

Hi Allen
Love the coloring and framing. Blues can sell their emotion.
Peter

Both images are outstanding Allen!

I love the action in the first, but really love the mood in the second. Maybe the saturation of the eyecatching yellows. Wonderful poses and detail on both.

Maybe the heron didn’t want to be in the movie.

Excellent look at the heron, Allen. The colors of the setting make the image special. Well done.

Lovely images Allen. Really love the first one with the fish caught flying in between the beaks.

These are really well done Allen. I also like the heron
With the fish in its beak.

But for me, your kingfisher series is outstanding. Superb detail. Great action. It’s a fun thing to look at.
I occasionally get some kingfishers in my yard, but not very frequently and they’re never very cooperative. They have to be one of my favorite birds to photograph

The reed reflections and the gold en light reflecting off the water make a wonderful setting for this heron, Allen. I’m always amazed at the differences in size of the prey these birds consume.

Gorgeous, both! The first is exceptional with so many interesting compositional details so well arranged – the BG colors, the reflection, the ripples, and of course the snack! This one is about a 15/10! It belongs in a high-end gallery!

And the perfect color on the birds. (I’ve always wondered, if they weren’t named Blue Herons, would we see fewer pictures with blue casts on the grays? )
