Allen - really nice pose here. Unusual to get a topside view.
The large image seems just a bit soft - maybe large crop? You didn’t mention your specs.

Very nice color and light. It looks like a large crop due to some softness and noise.A superb wing position.

Agree with others’ comments. It is a nice view of this bird that I don’t see often.

Thank you for the comments everyone. Yes I like the pose too but I was a bit too far away for stellar image quality. One of my favorite species - I’ll get more chances next summer.

I love the color in this one, Allen. The angle of the heron is very nice as others have mentioned. I think the square crop works pretty well with this one.
