Description

I caught this guy at our backyard feeder in the early morning light. Not only are they beautiful birds but they also have a very pleasing call. Sounds like a canary!

Nice detail in the grosbeak and I like the pose, Dave. It feels a little tight in the frame for my taste. The background noise level isn’t bad for that iso, though I think some of the modern software can do a little better. Still it’s not obtrusive, so it may not be worth messing with it.

I have to agree with Dennis Plank on this one. They are pretty birds as you say. I certainly like to photograph them.

Hi Dave, nice catch. I like the pose with that head turn and placement of the bird in the frame with the curvy perch. I’m wondering if reducing highlights would help bring down the brighter greens in the BG and the brightest parts of the bird. Agree with Dennis on the noise level. Nice catch.
