Description
I was on a boat to photograph Puffins . On the way back a feeding frenzy was noticed with a bunch of gulls diving into the ball of small fish. Maybe Herring but, I don’t know. One lucky gull with lunch.

I like that forward stretched wing, Charlie, but I think your focus found it instead of the eye as the face and fish look just a little soft while the wing looks nice and sharp. If the fish was flopping a lot, that softness could be motion blur as it would cause the head to move a bit as well. I think a bit higher shutter speed might have done the trick.
Nice to catch this action. And I really love the plumage pattern on the near wing.
Thanks. Thought I was fast enough but, agree. Should have been faster.
Nicely composed image and cool seeing the fish like that. Agree on the shutter speed and sharpness. Enjoy seeing the outstretched wing.
Nice one, Charlie. Really like the wing position and the watery background. The fish adds a lot to the image-not sure I’ve ever seen a gull with a fish before.
