Description

This Great Black-backed Gull was happily feeding on a spider crab as I was walking on the beach. Not wanting to share, he quickly moved himself and his lunch further away for a more private repast, on Sandy Point in Stonington, CT.

HI Jim, nice catch with the prey being protected like this. Interesting pose with the foot up. Bird is rather soft and the whites are overexposed. Focal point seems to be on the sand in front of the bird. Given proper focus, I think increasing shutter speed, etc could have helped with the capture.
