Hard living

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

When I saw this, for some reason I was struck by what a hard life some desert vegetation leads.

There’s some banding in the sky in the compressed version that isn’t there in the original.

Specific Feedback

Any comments would be welcome.

Technical Details

ISO 100, 108mm, f/11, 1/125th sec., canon 60D converted for infrared. Minimal processing. I just tweaked the tones and added some contrast.

Wonderful!! Evokes a stormy day with spooky light, but with IR it might have been a ordinary sky??? Who knows, or cares. The final result is wonderful! And the dead branches leading to the LL corner are a great feature, as is the sprinkle of lighter leaves in the LL. Well seen and presented!

Thanks, Diane.

Wonderful IR image Don! The dark moody sky and the direct light on the desert landscape are very dramatic looking; kind of like something you might get right before a storm. the dead branches are another great element in the scene as @Diane_Miller already mentioned. Beautifully done.

Thanks, Ed. The dead branches were part of what drew me to this.
