I was attempting to create what appears to be a feather headdress in motion.

I’m not sure what the original was, Jim, but this does bear a stunning resemblance to some of the head dresses I’ve seen and the sense of motion is very strong. Kudos on getting the ICM to actually produce what you intended and do it so well. I also like the composition.

Dennis , thank you for your comments. The image is an icm shot of sumac bush.

What a fine ICM - I immediately thought “That’s a headdress” and I still don’t see a bush; so for me that’s how a good ICM can strike the viewer. It has great rhythm and movement - as if the “wearer” were twisting and turning in the dance. Top marks, Jim!

Jim: Great concept and equally great execution. A unique and artistic creation. Many kudos. >=))>

@Jim_Gavin
Great very creative ICM

Hi Jim,

I immediately thought of a plains Indian headdress when I saw this. The sense of a warrior in motion comes through loud and clear. Nicely done.

@Mike_Friel @Bill_Fach @Huw_Thomas @Marylynne_Diggs Thank you for your nice comments. The sumac have been beautiful this fall with a variety of colors. Mike, the image is of several branches and leaves; not the whole bush. I should have clarified that in my initial description.

I first thought it was something like fern, but sumac it is. ICM is known for giving unpredictable results, but this one is so perfect that I suspect the hand of a knowledgeable master. Very well done. The light seems to come from underneath. Did you use some kind of lamp to achieve this?
