Heron Hiding in the Weeds

This Great Blue Heron was perched on a small island in a pond. He seemed to think he was camouflaged in the weeds and completely ignored me.

A nice opportunity for you, Scott, and you did a good job of capturing it considering what was apparently some pretty poor light conditions. There is actually pretty good detail in the bird that makes it look fairly good in the small size but the severe noise from the ISO-3200 is pretty distracting in the large version. The noise is worst in the out of focus background so you might be able to selectively apply some blurring. One way to do that is create a duplicate layer, apply the blur to the whole bottom layer and then selectively delete the top layer with a soft, light brush where you want the blurred version to show.

Thanks. I am still a rookie with editing software, but I will give it a try. This will get me started and will be good practice. Thanks very much for your time and help
