Hippie Shower Curtain

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was at our local Japanese garden yesterday morning and did some ICMs on a bamboo stand. One of them came out with just the vertical patterns from the bamboo with no background showing through. I decided to try combining it with another image of one of the very few maple trees with any leaves left, then I just played with blending modes until this popped out. Some final local adjustments to ring up some darker areas and accent the greens a bit more and this was the result.

Specific Feedback

Is this too outrageous in terms of color?

Technical Details

Both images taken with a Sony A7Riv and 70-200 f/4 lens. The rest probably doesn’t matter.

Wow! That is really cool Dennis.

Uh Oh !..whats next Madras shirts from the 60’s. If so I can share a photo from my closet…
Looks fine to me as is.
A really fun take here, Dennis… :sunglasses:

I think I saw this very shower curtain at Target last week…

Unique and very cool image, with masterful processing!

Far out, Dennis! You really did get the curtain texture down to a T. Yeah, it’s just too much. Luvvit.

I like the creativity, Dennis. I suspect that you could successfully combine the bamboo shot with a lot of other images.

Really groovy Dennis! (I’d forgotten about Madras shirts)

I really like this image. Very well done! And great name for it too.

Thanks, Don. That wavy pattern in the bamboo shot was a nice surprise. I need to tag it for future use.

This is insane and I love it! It really does look like a shower curtain. I think for images like this, the more outrageous the color the better.
