Description
Cloudy skies prevailed again today and I had some luck bird hunting. (A bigger perch would be nice, but this was his choice.) And I finally saw a Bullock’s – we had more of them last year than these guys. Both feel scarce right now. But I saw a Lazuli Bunting (for about a microsecond). The only other one I’ve seen up here was in 2013!

Global tonal work in LR, then denoise. Into PS to crop from the left and prune a couple of small OOF twigs.
No nits here, Diane. Great pose and excellent detail with a pleasing background. The bush adds its own interest with the curved geometry.
Not a single nit to be seen here either! Wonderful detail on the bird…especially zoomed in! Great pose and perch. Love the curvy twig on the left. The usual great background adds a lot.
Diane: Wonderful detail in the bird. The soft light and muted background serve to lead the viewere’s eye to the very colorful subject. Excellent!
Wonderful capture here. The bird position is what you would dial ins if you had a choice. I am a sucker for graduated backgrounds, which you have here. Well done.
Thanks, @Allen_Brooks , @Glenys_Passier , @Richard_Sandor and @Jerry_Austin ! Gorgeous light clouds have kept me away from chores and responsibilities the last few days! But the weather won’t last.
very classy pose. Terrific perch. And all the usuals
The branches frame the subject nicely. Pose is nice with a sweet BG. Please send one of these orioles my way–I have plenty of jelly feeders out for these guys. Another awesome shot…Jim
Thanks, @David_Schoen and @Jim_Zablotny ! Our neighbors have feeders and are very environmental and were aghast that I was offering them grape jelly – until they discovered how effective it was. She thought they might like orange marmalade so put out some next to the jelly. I’m sure it was very high-end orange marmalade, but they ignored it and went for the jelly.
