Description

Really? You went to Maui to take a photo of a House Sparrow? I would wish for a different bird and a slight head turn, but I like the image for its painterly feel. It fits with my personal aesthetic on how I’d like my bird photos to look. Unfortunately, the combination of setting and bird rarely occurs.

I do like the composition, Allen. You might bring down the white edge on the tail a bit.

Lovely!! I like the composition and the shallow DOF on the foliage works for me here, possibly because of how well it ties in with the BG color and tonality. It is artistic!

Nice BG and color on the sparrow. Interesting perch with those short leaves and spikes on the stem.

A fine composition, Allen. I like the pose and the background. And the foliage does have a tropical feel to it. Nicely done.
