Technical Details

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 700mm, 1/1600, ISO 1600, and cropped by 30% in DXO PhotoLab 8. I lowered the whites and used a control point to bring up the exposure on the back of the Blue.

Yes, sir, herons can be a lot have fun. I find them to be somewhat difficult subjects. They certainly are a showy as egrets . But you got a great title.

Interesting! Love the GBH’s, even though they are pretty common.
My early-am brain doesn’t “get” the title, though… (?)

Excellent job getting them both in the plane of focus, Peter. I love the completely different poses. Only possible improvement I could see is if the one on our right turned it’s head enough to get a little light in the eye, but you can’t control that one.
