Indian Moorhen

I was photographing this Moorhen at a dark corner, spot lit by setting sun, a friend of mine saw me there and thought that I had become very desperate. He came to me and started talking very nicely to me. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

What gorgeous light. I love the reflections of the ripples on the duck’s body and the way the water is acting like a natural reflector to light the duck from below.

Agree about the light - it is lickable for sure. Your focus is spot on. Such detail. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a marsh hen, so it’s a treat that you shared your shot of one. I think it could use a bit more room all around, but that’s all I can come up with. Maybe a little ccw rotation, too. What a beauty. The water looks covered in … something? Feathers? Pollen?

Beautiful bird, Jagdeep. I’ve never seen a Moorhen that wasn’t mostly black so it’s cool to see a different species with such wonderful coloration. The detail is exquisite.

Gorgeous!! Our Moorhens are suitable subjects for desperate photographers, but you found a gorgeous one in amazing light with an amazing reflection!! Good thing your friend didn’t scare it off.

Hi Rajput
With luck, I could this desperate. As always you have given us a very good looking photograph. The Moorhen’s reflection, head and beak detail really make this photograph.
