Description
Well, here is the inevitable Roadrunner image from Arizona! I just love these guys. What a comic! This one was hanging around the VRBO this morning, and I hear the neighbors feed him, so he got a small breakfast of raw hamburger from our intended dinner tonight. He cooperated nicely. I was surprised there was any green left after the cold temperatures at night, but the frost has melted off this patch in the sun.

Nice shot of this iconic bird, Sandy. Feeding these guys seems to work. The first one I ever saw was at Falcon Lake in Texas where they fed them in the campground. Interestingly, when I finally had time to spend some time there several years later, no one was feeding them any more and I didn’t see any.
Yes indeed, me too. They use to be so plentiful here in So Cal and I rarely see them anymore. I can recall seeing a few in the past hauling away with a snake in tow. The last one was very urbanized as I looked out the window of local Panera’s and saw one on the run with a chunk of Panera Bread.
This is a wonderful portraiture here of this very healthy looking guy, Sandy
The eye expression says Wow a Big Mac! Great pose and like the soft surroundings of the scene. Placing the coamera close to the ground worked well for this type of comp…Jim
Hi Sandy, Jealous here - I love these birds but have no shots of one. They are not in my home area but are one state over in the Arkansas Ozarks. Nicely detailed catch and I love seeing the eye so well with the bird angled toward us. Wishing the out of focus green was not obscuring the lower legs/ feet. Still a very fine catch.
