I don’t really know if the complement of red is green or cyan. Both are present in the background of this image. (Maybe it’s cyan, maybe just a light blue, not sure.)

Mark, the standard complement of red is green on the simpler color wheels (6-12 colors). When you go to the sophisticated color wheels, where intensity is included, then it does get more complicated. The frilled petals of the tulip show well with the leaves making a nice background.
