Juniper Bones

This fallen juniper brought to mind a human skeleton. Another from Utah.

What a great name for the photo. It really does look like a corpse. Kind of creepy, in fact, but in a good way. I think the arc of stones along the bottom adds nice texture. The way you’ve positioned the V at the top to fit into the curve of the branch is great.

Harley, this poor old carcass could really give us some stories I’m sure of it. These old bleached bones of desert relics like this are a real fav for me. Another nice find from the southwestern territories here… :+1:
Only change for me is to de-saturate the magenta. It is really showing up on my monitor. Maybe a cast removal will do it. Either approach IMO… :sunglasses:

EDIT: Here was just an idea for another look.

Totally looks like a skeleton to me, Harley. The lines/contours of the rock seems to be mimicking the dry wood form. Nicely seen.

There is so much to see in the landscape if you have an eye for it. What is happened to him or it we never will know. Nice image Harley.

Harley, you definitely have a fossil theme going from this trip. And similar to your prior post, I love how you used the shapes, patterns and colors at the top to add visual interest to the scene. My only suggestion would some burning of the highlights in the LRC.

Great find and capture Harley. Put me down for a crispy road runner or lizard… although most definitely some anthropomorphic characteristics going on here.

Agree with Paul on the magenta - but only targeted on some of the ground debri or some of the pebbles, most below the creature, left of center. I think the overall colors, saturation are excellent. The only other suggestion, a very slight vignette.
