The first thing I saw was the nice grasses in the foreground. The light on them gave them a golden glow that I like a lot.

The composition works very well with the FG grasses on the right and the larger cloud formation tying the mountain in.

I believe the processing here is quite nice. The image has a soft (tactile, not focus) look that I like. If you wanted to attempt it, and not saying you should, you could bring up the shadowed mountain and midground hills a bit along with the bit of golden light on the hills below the main peak. If you choose to do so, be careful; it won’t take much.

It sure looks like a fine mountain day!

Thank you this was very helpful

James, I really love the light on the FG and MG and the composition. At first it might seem right heavy with the mountain, but I think it’s balanced by the clouds. That being said, I think for the mountain range to be such a heavy presence in the image, being in shade detracts a little. That could have been offset by some dramatic light at the top of the peaks. Also I think some power lines should be cloned out. JMHO of course.

As my eye is naturally drawn to the lightest and warmest spots, the first thing I see is the lower right corner and those warm grasses in the foreground. I love the light that’s just hitting the tops of them. I also love the tops of the midground rolling hills in front of the mountain backdrop. Those hills are kissed by that same warm light. You also have light kissing the very tippy tops of the main mountain peaks. Very nice indeed. That one heavy cloud in the left center portion of the image nicely balances the tallest peak on the right center portion of the image creating pretty nice balance in your composition. I agree with @Michael_Lowe regarding the power lines. Should be easy enough to remove with either LR or PS removal tools that are pretty epic nowadays. Thanks for sharing this one James.

Thank you very much

James,

First thing that caught my was the mountain, then the sky followed by the FG grasses. The photo has a nice balance to it. The sky though seems to lack contrast. I might consider that as an edit.

Thank you for your suggestion

I agree with much of what has been suggested, but how about a little tweak of “texture” (LightRoom) on the mountains?
