I got a call from a kayaker friend telling me she’d witnessed a young Bald Eagle make an attempt at snatching a fish from our local lake and ending up IN the water with a long swim to shore which it did. She told me where it was drying off on land and I grabbed up my camera and went down there. It tolerated me being not too far away while it was sunning. Here’s my favorite shot I got of it. D500, Nikon 200-500 lens, 500mm, ISO 1800, f 5.6, hand held, AI Clear

A fine close-up look at the eagle. Nice head turn and staring expression. I do see what appears to be some haloing along the upper side of the eagle.
