Wow Bill, this is a mind bender! I stared at this initially wondering to myself that I’ve never seen a geologic pattern like this. The circular pattern of mosaic-type tiles is fascinating and I wonder, was this some ancient creation, or a natural finding. Just fascinating!

Then I came across your description and PS filter - totally explains it now! Funny you ask about the URC and leaving it for scale and reference. That, I think, is exactly why I thought this was a natural occurance or ancient mosaic.

So however and whatever you did certainly convinced me this was a straight scene and capture! So kudos for the illusion. Very impressive creation Bill!

Bill, this is a bit of a mind bender… It would be even more so if only the central pattern were in view. Yes, it’s fun to contemplate what the geology was behind a bulls eye pattern… The colors are nicely soothing and inviting.

Bill, I like this a lot. I have an old kaleidoscope on my desk, the tube was turned from a solid block of wood. Over the decades, the little bits of coloured glass have started to stick together, so it doesn’t work very well any more, just like its owner.
