Very nice, Dave. This image has a very painterly feel to it that I find appealing.
I really like the lighting and the textures in this one Dave. As Dennis says, it has a painterly look to it. Nice one.
Hi Dave, nice catch of this kestrel - this species never cooperates for me. Great to see this bird with prey. Fine pose and BG. Wonder if the painterly feel and lack of feather detail is from either running a very strong dose of noise reduction on the subject or a large crop.
Good pose and pleasing light.
nice shot would love to find one of these guys feeding to photograph. I would like to see a crop with the bird a little more to the upper left corner and not so much in the middle to compare. but love the leftovers in the beak.
Great catch, Dave. Nice that it shows the action without too much gore
I like your treatment of the image. Well done.
Nice catch of a merlin. This falcon can outfly a kestrel and they are like a lightning bolt covered with feathers. Good light and like the BG which goes well with the subject…Jim
Wonderful catch but the “painterly” look is from NR gone wrong, probably assisted with an attempt to sharpen.
