Superb detail, nice light and a good pose, Dan. The composition is a bit unconventional, but it works for me. the background birds are sufficiently out of focus that they aren’t distracting and add to the context of the image. A fine image as posted.
Just the right head turn to bring out those wonderful colors. I always have trouble composing with OOF birds in the background. An alternate comp might to vertical with much go the OOF ducks removed?
Great colors. I like the OOF birds. Anything else would be nit picky ! good job
