King of the Savannah

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This “King of the Jungle” myth is just ignorant. Lions don’t live in jungles; they live in grasslands.
This beautiful, majestic fellow was on a small cliff over the dry riverbed we were driving in. He laid there for over an hour, stretching, yawning, licking, and just being a lion. I was hoping he would get up and walk, but no luck.

Hi Sandy !
You had a great POV to shoot the lion, actually whenever we find wildlife subject at a higher plateform, they result in majestic pictures. I simply love the portrait here, the beaming eyes add so much here !

Cheers :heavy_heart_exclamation:

I agree, that the low POV makes this great photo. In my opinion it is helped a lot by still having background trees and not just the sky which can often happen in these situations.
An hour well spent Sandy.

I agree the low POV is really good for these portraits of the King of the Savannah Sandy. It looks like he’s had a rough day ruling the roost.

Very nice! I just can’t decide which one is my favorite. Great portraits. No nits from me.
