Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
This was a few years back, so technically not a strong image, but always loved seeing the “kneeling warrior”. Just posting for fun this week

Fritz, this is a very powerful picture and I can definitely see a wizard or overlord with a wand. I like the placement of him under the sun star. I feel though like there is a little too much space around him to get the full impact of his powers. I know the shadow adds to the picture but maybe try a tighter crop around him and the sun. Just my sense but really fun picture.
Fritz, the “pose” and the sunburst star filter effects have me thinking about Renaissance religious art. Definitely an interesting view. Maybe a crop to 4x5??, continuing to use the shadow as a leading line.
@Mark_Seaver , @tamar-aharony Thank you both for taking the time to comment. The crop on this photo has been a challenge; I have tried different crops, and I find it hard to strike a happy medium with keeping enough of the sunburst, as well as the shadows. I tried the 4x5, but that through the aforementioned balance off. Included is what worked for my eye as far as balance. Thoughts?
I think this is definitely much better. Now it looks like one cohesive composition where the shadow leads to the subject with the sunburst above. This looks really good.
