Lavender, orchard and mountains

Taken near Palisade Colorado. D500, 18-105 Nikkor Lens at 30, ISO 400, 1/500@f6.3

I know the area well, and you nailed it. Though we spend up to 4 months a year in the vicinity, we’ve never managed to be on hand for lavender. More’s the pity, as you amply demonstrate!

Skip,

Classic and wonderfully composed layered landscape image. What a great set of clouds too!

I might be inclined to drop the brightness up top and perhaps boost the contrast in the butte/mountain, but that’s minor.

Well seen and photographed.

The layers of color look great, Skip. That’s a wonderful collection of lavendar in the foreground, a lovely green orchard, a neat set of buttes at the back topped by a beautiful day’s sky. Definitely a “feel good” view.

I like this image a lot, Skip. A lot going on with really nice lines. It may be natural slopes, but it looks like the image could use a touch of CCW rotation.

Skip: Beautiful scene superbly captured. I do like the sky but would like less of it. As is it looks like it gets 25-30% of the frame and I don’t think it’s that good. Crop away half of it and its still a nice element but bows to the FG which is the star of this show.=))>

This is a nice collection of layers. As another option have you considered a crop to just below the orchard? Seems the layers of lavender would make an appealing presentation of their own.
