Lazuli Bunting

Not perfect, a bit soft, but I like the singing pose and setting. It’s one of the prettier birds we see in the PNW and one I’ve rarely seen.

You’re one step ahead of me Allen. At least you have a photo. We have them passing through our place in the Rockies, but camera and encounter have never coincided.

I particularly like the lighting in this, and the bunting’s colors come off especially well against its green surroundings and background. Yeah, you could play with crops to change its position in the frame, but you have plenty of room to do that if you are moved to it.

A very sweet composition, Allen and a great signing pose. The lighting really brought out the blues well. while the bird’s a bit soft, it’s a better shot than anything I’ve managed. They’re pretty rare around here and I’ve only encountered them in tree tops.

Nice pose and background. The color and light are excellent. I like the setting.
