Leaving Mammoth Hot Springs

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

There is some fine scenery driving along the new road between Mammoth Hot Springs and Gardiner (provided you’re willing to take your eyes of the very twisty road…). If you stop in some of the pull offs and walk a short ways, you can get even better views of the area. For this view, I walked a short ways to get a decent look at Slide Lake, with Bear Creek creating the canyon coming out of the mountains in the distance. The Yellowstone River runs in the valley that is nearly parallel to the scene near the middle, while the Gardner runs in the valley just beyond Slide Lake.

Specific Feedback

I’m always amazed at how deeply eroded Bear Creek is, presumably from the era of glacial melting 10,000 - 15,000 years ago.
