Is anyone using adapters for lens? I’m thinking about purchasing a Sony lens adaptor to fit my Nikon Z 6II ? I’m looking to purchase some lens and Nikon has a small collection of choices and their prices are out of my range. I want to go to Tamron, they seem to have a large choice of Sony lens that would fit my needs.
Andrew,
I will let someone with direct Sony-to-Nikon-Z experience speak to that particular combination. But I also have a Z6ii and have been evaluating adapter options, in my case for vintage lenses. Price points and capabilities can vary greatly, the key functional considerations being: a) support for autofocus and/or autoexposure; b) transfer of EXIF data; and c) support for infinity focus. And of course adapters come with additional cost, weight and size attributes.
But I’m curious, what lens options have you considering the adapter path? A quick look at B&H, for example, shows 150 full frame Z lenses available from 21 brands. Though I see they list just 4 Tamron Z lenses compared to 16 Sony E lenses. Is it some of those missing 12 that spark your interest?
Thanks,
Bob
I use a Sigma MC 11 adapter to use my inventory of Canon EF-L lenses on my new Sony a7RIVa. I couldn’t be happier with the corner to corner sharpness and not a trace of light leak. The exif data comes through complete. Of course being an ex view camera guy I always manually focus so I’m the wrong person to beguile you with tales of autofocus or stabilization integration…
I hope you find a solution that works for you!
