Ola,

Definitely not a “clear-cut” thing - it’s all subjective. Not that this will help, but my personal motto goes like this - if you’re going to include something, include it on purpose - in other words make sure the viewer knows you intended to include something. This, you clearly did; whether or not it works is the subjective part. I think the lily pads work - but also an abstract crop up top is just as valid - just a different image.

@Ola_Jovall I continue to gaze at this image and it gets better and better. Part of the fascination is the ambiguity. The upper part is abstract, colorful, and enticing. But that metamorphoses into a darkly mundane world of straight lines, fewer colors, and I would suppose out of the frame darkness.
