Description
I returned yesterday from a photo trip to southern Louisiana. Focus was on the bird rookeries and some swamps in the area. This heron caught a frog in the water lettuce around the rookery and flew off with it.

Wow!! Wonderful captures with great detail on the heron and a perfect BG. But that frog!!! Poor thing – just look at its body language with that arm outstretched toward the viewer! Both are superb!
Nice flight images of the heron, Allen. Great detail in bird and frog. Personal preference is the second one with the wings down. I like having a flight shot with a background other than sky.

I just want to say HOLD ON FROG. The Bure looks very nice, and the background really helps create separation.

I prefer the first image, Allen. It’s a bit sharper than the second, and the frog is definitely sharper which makes a huge difference to my eye.
