Loaded Down

This little bee was just plowing through the pollen on the flower, reminding me of a snow plow. I loved how his face is covered with pollen. He was so busy he didn’t even pay attention to me and the camera so close to him.

Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 100 mm f2.8 L macro lens, HH with KX-800 twin flash with diffuser. Camera was set to manual settings f10, 1/200, ISO 160. Edited slightly in LR.

Shirley, that head full of pollen is great (I don’t recall seeing a headful before…). The details in both the flower bits and the bee look good as does the overall yellowness of the shot.

I see bees do that from time to time Shirley but this is a great angle to capture this bee. I think the f/10 was about right. I have learn that bees don’t care how close we get as long as they are not touched. Just don’t wear a bright yellow shirt if you know what I mean.
