This lichen was a species I never saw (or probably just never noticed!) until several years ago. I now enjoy seeing it in many places I walk regularly in Central Vermont and marvel at the variability it shows. Here on the marvelous bark of a White Ash tree.

That’s an amazing collection of lichen, John. While I could also see a “lichen only” view, I like the added context that the bit of tree and distant snow at the top add.
