About This Image
Since I discovered Lowe’s Water Gardens (NOT the big box store) I’ve had opportunities to shoot water lilies, lotus and dragonflies the past couple of years and this year we decided to try our hand at growing our own. We have had a small patio pond ever since we moved into this house over 20 years ago but never put anything in it. When I saw this bunch I knew they had to come home with me.

I wanted to show a variety of views and perspectives. Do any stand out for you or OTOH are any just meh?

All with Sony A7r3 and either FE 70-200 f2.8 GM-II or FE 100mm f2.8 GM Macro. First image is a 14 shot stack in Helicon Focus, all others single capture.
Bill, #3 is my favorite! I love how you framed the bud with the two top leaves. And that one little water drop, icing on the cake! They are all good, but #3 is my pick. That was a good idea to plant Lotus in your little pond. Now you can enjoy them in your back yard.
None are meh, all show the changing aspects of the flowers through the blooming. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen Lotus flowers IRL. Lotus cars, yes. The first has such amazing color and I like the near twinning effect of the two together. The side on view with the relaxed petals is like a whole other world - I would tone down the bright slice between the leaf and the far right petals though. And the buds are framed really nicely with the other elements in the frame. These are a great addition to your already fantastic garden.
I like the first one which has a very strong comp with excellent crispness. Your stacking produced some excellent results. The colors are rich with soft shadows. The third image is a close second, and I found that the yellow spot to the right of the bud tended to pull my eye. Great series, Indeed! …Jim
