I got lucky getting this male CA Quail going thru some Lupines this morning. Cool looking birds/cool looking wildflowers, I thought. D500, Nikon 2-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, tripod/gimbal head, 1/1000th, f/8.0, ISO 2800, 700mm, cropped to 2688 x 2963, AI Clear

Dave, a wonderful setting to photograph this fairly large looking male CA. Quail. He no doubt is enjoying the romp through this beautiful scene…:+1:

I love the lupine setting, Dave. Beautiful background, beautiful bird. And you have processed it really well, too. I only wish the bird to turn slightly towards you.

I wasn’t going to point this out but the Quail kept stopping and eating the Lupine blossoms! Ya just can’t get good help anymore!
