Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Not much to describe, and I think the moon speaks for itself. What I thought was cool was Mercury hanging out with the moon as the sank in the western sky. Taken earlier this evening on February 28th. Oh, yeah, this moon marks the beginning of Ramadan as well.

I liked the amount of earthshine illuminating the outline of the moon and the subtle detail of the moon’s surface.

Specific Feedback

Any feedback or comments welcome.

Technical Details

Nikon D850, Nikon 400mm f/5.6 MF lens at f8, 1/2 second, ISO 800.
Processed in ACR and PS, minimal adjustments. Cropped to 4x5 as there was no need for the empty sky at the top.

Lovely, as all your crescent moons are – and all so different! I love the color gradient and didn’t realize Mercury would be that bright. The amount of earthshine for that much ambient light is very impressive! Very well done – no suggestions. Well, one – you should do a book of your crescent moons, if you haven’t.

Thanks @Diane_Miller and I have been working on one titled Chronicles of a Crescent Chaser

This is really stunning! (as always, with your moons). The faint moon and colour gradients are subtle and very compelling.
Excellent work (and put me down for a pre-order as well )!
