Maiden Dew

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Doing more file cleanup on my hard drive before migrating to a new computer and I came across this little jewel.

I love the delicate nature of Maidenhair Ferns. With the dew drops on them it was to good to pass up.

Really nice photo !!! I love the lines and the droplets …

Very delicate, but it also has lots of energy with all those diagonals. The relatively low contrast emphasizes the delicacy of the leaves. Lovely.

I think the strong line of the stems contrasted with the subtle detail of the leaf structure and water droplets works well, as does the monochrome treatment. I also like the placement of the center of the fern in the ULC. It adds some dynamism to the image. Very nice work.

All said above – simply gorgeous!! I’m so glad you rescued it and let me enjoy it!! The mid-tones are so subtle, but set off by the dark stems and bright drops they feel perfect!

Great light, fabulous texture, nice repeating patterns, and a flow to it all. Yes, a gem…

Very nice silvery tones. The patterns and intersecting diagonals work well.

Classic in terms of subject matter and execution. Works very well as monochrome as it makes me enjoy the patterns, texture and lines even more. Keeper.
