This is a male house finch I caught out back in the afternoon sun. I like their look.
Specific Feedback
Anything. Is that stick okay going out the corner like that? Did I break some kind’ve rule there?

Hi Dave, nice catch of this finch. I like the pose with the head turned toward us. The stick placement looks okay to me. Wondering if some of the overly bright areas on the bird and stick could be darkened.
there are a lot of different areas of light and dark in this image. looks to me as if the lighting wasn’t so cooperative. Allen has some good ideas.
Hi Dave,
Work on those highlights as they are clipped. Overall a pleasing image and I especially like the pose. With the Z9, there’s some data in those bright areas that you can recover while keeping the essence of those highlights. Well done…Jim
This is nice! The stick is fine. The light is pretty harsh; if you could darken those small areas on the bird that are super-bright white that could help. It’s hard shooting in light like this, but the color is good and the face and eye are nice and clear.
