Mallard in-flight

I generally don’t post black-and-white avian images. The forecasted lifting of the fog never happened today and in fact I think it got even darker. For those of you who prefer a little color, I posted both images. Very narrow depth of field here.

Pertinent technical details or techniques: iso-1600, 800 mm, F5 .6, 2500th, A7r4, handheld, 60% of full frame with most of it coming off the bottom.

I often like a bit of color in those dull grey shots but not sure it works here. In the color option the little pool of water in lrc draws my eye away from what looks like a quiet river scene. I wonder how a pano crop would look. Mallard looks nice and sharp.
