Description
This photo gives me the sense of a hoard of clones marching towards me and there is no way to stop them. But it also has a somewhat whimsical feel to it as well since the pink owl’s clover has a funny almost palm tree shape. Photographed in spring, of course en route to the Carrizo Plain in central California.
Specific Feedback
Nikon D2x, Nikon 17-55 mm f2.8, at f22 1/20 sec ISO 100.
I focused close and purposefully and let the background go soft. I wanted to show the onslaught of clones coming but did not need the details of the hoard, just detail in the foreground was good enough to give the sense of what was coming.
Technical Details
Any feed back on the composition or whether the intent was achieved is appreciated.

Youssef, the bright pink “clones” gives this a touch of whimsey as we do not tend to think of pink as an ominous color. Your focus in the front lets the softer flowers in the distance feel much more like a hoard.
I missed this somehow, and glad I saw it now, because I think it’s very lovely! The blooms cluster at the top, but not too close, and funnel down toward the viewer in a very pleasing way. The DOF is just right and the light is lovely, too. Congratulations on the EP – well-deserved!
Love this view. I’m so envious that you found a field that was so thick with blooms! Excellent DOF fall-off, and the contrasting colors are beautiful. Congrats on the Editor’s Pick.
This is beautiful Youssef! I like the color, texture, and the overall balance of the image. Also love the color contrast; very striking! I hope you’re doing well!
Youssef,
The color combination of pinks and greens is quite loveely and the DOF; as it falls off; is perfect for my tastes. Great title BTW and congrats on the EP.
