Mercer Arboretum, Humble, Texas
The Mercer Arboretum is one of my favorite haunts outside our own garden. About the only thing Chrissy doesn’t grow is water lilies so I have to get my fix at the Mercer. The arboretum has persevered through some tough times over the years. It is on the banks of Cypress Creek and is susceptible to flooding. Hurricanes Ike in 2008 and Harvey in 2017 were especially tough and forced almost complete rebuilds. Two years after Harvey I shot this nice water lily family after a shower. Cropped for comp from the top and a little from the bottom and right. All comments welcome. >=))>

There is so much that is great with this image. The “power of 3” with the 3 open lilies, the wonderful palette of colors with striking impact, and I LOVE the purple lily with the orange center. So nicely executed. Great detail in the white lilies as well. Great job. Don’t think there is anything distracting for me in the image. Nice job!
Bill, this is a great collection of water lily flowers (and pads). The blooms fill the frame well with the different colors adding extra interest. The scattered water drops add an extra dimension to the story.
Your perspective takes the viewer right in among the flowers, Bill - and they offer a nice variety of colour and shape. A very pleasing image !
