Mojave Cactus Abstract

Image(s)

Image Description

Joshua Tree National Park is home to a mind-blowing diversity of plant life that thrive in desert conditions. The more I slowed down and observed, the more variety of plant life I noticed. I found it thoroughly satisfying to capture a series of selective focus abstracts of each plant’s unique structure.

Feedback Requests

Generalized feedback on using selective focus, and cooler color harmonies in a high key style to make these pointy desert plants slightly less terrifying/ threatening.

Beth, the subtle colors and midly high-key effect are quite attractive. I’m also enjoying how there a single spine towards the lower left that stands out. I would be tempted to clone out (or dodge) the spine base near the bottom center, as it’s gets some attention.
