Mt Cook Buttercup

These Mt Cook buttercups (Ranunculus lyallii…often incorrectly called Mt Cook lilies) are widespread within the alpine zone. In late spring-early summer they make a stunning display against high altitude shrubs, rocky screes, and so forth.

Everything about this is so well done. Wonderful to look at.

Thanks for your comment Ronald, much appreciated.

That’s wonderful Phil. Expertly composed. The petals do such a good job of framing the center.

This is simply gorgeous!! I love the way the two bottom petals cradle the center! Excellent composition, focus and whites!

Thanks @Cameron_Wilcox and @Diane_Miller, I tried hard to get the petals composed so I appreciate your comments. It isn’t easy as the flowers are at a fairly high altitude and subjected to a lot of wind, I don’t often find them as 'untouched" as this one was. Cheers.

You’re welcome Phil. I also appreciate your avatar.

I really like this, Phil! The bright yellow fit the theme perfectly and I think you did a great job with the composition

Thankyou for your kind comments Gary.
